A-11 – WWII Pattern Automatic Military Watch
SKU Code: A-11S25
The A-11 Automatic is a faithful recreation of the iconic U.S. Army Air Forces pilot’s watch worn during WWII. Originally issued from 1941 onwards, the A-11 became one of the most recognizable military timepieces of the era.
This modern version retains the authentic 1940s design while upgrading the internals to a 24-jewel automatic self-winding movement and a shatter- and scratch-resistant box sapphire crystal. Outwardly, the crystal appears identical to the plexiglass of the originals but provides superior durability, clarity, and water resistance. The movement can also be hand-wound, preserving the traditional feel.
The A-11 is part of a trilogy of historically accurate re-creations, alongside the A-17 Korean War pattern and the GG-W-113 Vietnam-era model, offering collectors and enthusiasts a complete lineage of U.S. military field watches.

Benefits of Sapphire Crystal
Synthetic sapphire is the best material for watch crystals due to its strength and resistance to shattering and scratching. These characteristics make it highly appealing to military and security personnel, police officers, and those with active outdoor lifestyles—groups that account for over 70% of our customers. When accidents occur, over 90% of cracked crystals are mineral glass, even when hardened. Sapphire crystal, however, is heat-treated to remove internal stresses, enhancing durability, and is coated with two layers of anti-reflective material. Notably, sapphire crystal is also used in the latest iPhone models. Although it comes at a higher price, sapphire crystal is typically found only on higher-end watches due to its superior durability.
