Product Details

SKU Code: 5025JBLET

Inspired by the military watches of the 1950s and 1960s, this model features a box sapphire crystal that closely resembles the original plexiglass. It is powered by a sophisticated Ronda R 150 movement or equivalent, boasting 25 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). This precision-crafted powerhouse offers a substantial 38-hour power reserve, ensuring enduring performance. With hacking and hand-winding capabilities, it exemplifies both efficiency and convenience.

The watch uses Luminova instead of Tritium, which was commonly used in the 1960s. The main advantage of Luminova is its longevity and non-radioactive nature. The paint color mimics aged Tritium paint, and although the "T" is encircled for historical accuracy, it indicates Luminova.

The watch measures 39mm in diameter and comes with a matching steel bracelet designed to resemble the styles of the 1960s.

Why Sapphire Crystal?

Many people ask about the benefits of sapphire crystal over the original plexiglass. Synthetic sapphire is considered the best material for watch crystals due to its exceptional strength and resistance to shattering and scratching. These qualities make it highly appealing to military and security personnel, police officers, and people with active outdoor lifestyles, who make up over 70% of our customers.

The original plexiglass crystals from the 1960s, made of plastic/acrylic, were prone to scratches and cracks upon impact, which also limited the water resistance of the watch. When clients experience cracked crystals, over 90% of the incidents involve watches with mineral glass crystals or plexiglass. Even hardened mineral crystals do not match the durability of sapphire under adverse conditions.

Sapphire crystals are heat-treated to remove internal stresses, which can cause weakness. After manufacturing, the crystals are coated with two layers of anti-reflective coating. Interestingly, sapphire crystal is now used on the latest iPhones. While sapphire crystal comes at a higher price, its superior quality justifies its use in higher-end watches.
